Details:
ART and PLACE is a new initiative by Arts Queensland to inject $12 million into public art over the next three years. The funding seeks to see the development of significant public art by Queensland local government councils, not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations, arts and cultural festivals, and private developers. An Arts QLD curatorial panel will assess applications and ensure timely delivery of high quality projects.Applications will be assessed on the following criteria, artistic merit, physical space and site, locality and identity, soundness and durability, media and maintenance, public safety and access, sound business case.
Applications are accepted in three separate funding streams reflecting the scale of project:
Stream 1: Signature projects (requests for art+place funds over $400 000 to $2 million)
Stream 2: Significant projects (requests for art+place funds over $100 000 to $400 000)
Stream 3: Major projects (requests for art+place funds over $50 000 to $100 000)
There are two funding rounds per year with the closing dates of 31 March and 30 September 2012.
