A$480000 Asialink Visual Arts/Craft Residency

Residencies in Asia are available for 3 to 4 months.They are designed to to expand the experiences of Australians in Asia. Residencies are offered in arts management, literature, performing and visual arts. Up to 40 residencies will be offered in 2011 of which approximately ten will be for visual arts. Funding of up to $12,000 for each residency will be available to go towards travel, living and project expenses.Artists are expected to contribute their own funds as well if necessary.

A$300000 City of Sydney Local Community Grants

Grants of up to $5000 are available for local community organisations including arts organisations based in or providing events or services for the City of Sydney Local Government Area. There are two funding rounds per year. Round 2 will open in August 2010.

A$280000 City of Perth Cultural Sponsorship Program

Various funding streams for arts grants are available and are designed to promote lively and innovative arts and cultural activities for the people of the City of Perth. There are two funding rounds per year. The first funding round closes on February 11 with successful applicants being notified in June. Round two closes on September 7th with successful applicants being notified in December.There are three categories for sponsorship, Arts Partnership Grants (eligible for grants of $15,000 and over), Arts Project Grants (eligible for grants of up to $15,000) and Creative Community grants (eligible for grants of up to $15,000) and Fast Response grants of up to $1000.

A$195000 Arts Victoria - Artists in Schools

This program creates the opportunity for practicing professional artists to work with young people in Victorian schools.Artists and designers may work in any art form. Provides grants of $6500 for professional practicing artists to work in a Victorian school for up to 20 days.A total fund of $195,000 was made available in to 38 schools in 2009.

A$125000 WA Department of Culture and the Arts - Mid-Career Visual Arts and Craft Fellowships

Open to artists working in the areas of visual arts and craft including painting, sculpture, installation, new media, ceramics, jewellery, glass, textile, wood, multimedia.Fellowships may be for up to 12 months in duration. Up to five grants valued at $25,000 each are available.

A$120000 WA Department of Culture and the Arts - Creative Development Fellowships

Up to three development fellowships worth $60,000 each are available for established artists wanting new directions and professional development.Fellowships may vary in duration to a maximum period of 12 months.This is a highly competitive area and it is recommended you speak to an ArtsWA Project Officer before you prepare an application in this category.

A$48000 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards

The Victorian Indigenous Art Awards is one of the richest Indigenous art award program in the country.24 artworks were shortlisted across six categories, with a total prize pool of $48,000.Shortlisted works range from oil on canvas to basket weaving, photography, installations and textiles.

$5,000 Lin Onus Award (biennial)

Three $15,000 fellowships for artists under 26 years are available.Apply by September each year.Must demonstrate outstanding potential as a professional practitioner.

A$40000 Arts Queensland - Creative Fellowships

Fellowships are awarded only once in the lifetime to an individual. Fellowships valued at $40,000 are designed to support an individual artist for up to 12 months on a full time basis.Proposals should show demonstrated professional achievement, artistic and creative potential, artistic and cultural merit.

A$38500 Mortimore Art Prize For Realist Art

With $33,000 in prizemoney, categories in this prize include:
Best in Show $15,000
Best Waterscape $2000
Best Landscape $2000
Best Still life $2000

Best Sculpture $500
Five highly commended works receive $200 worth of art suplies each.
Peoples Choice prize receives $12,000 worth of furniture.

Works go through a pre-selection process and selected artists will be notified by September 7. Exhibition will tour to Sydney and Bungendore.

A$32000 National Lifestyle Villages Annual Art Award

The purpose of this award is to support the arts in localities that National Lifestyle villages operate in. The theme for 2010 is Coastal Observations.
The major acquisitive award is $10,000.
Highly commended acquisitive awards approximately $20,000 worth of work will be acquired at catalogue prices.
Non acquisitive people's choice award $1000.
Over 45s Active Aging Award non acquisitive $1000.

A$30000 Stan and Maureen Duke Gold Coast Art Prize

There is a $10,000 non-acquisitive first prize
Up to $20,000 will be available for acquisitions with the winning works going to the Gold Coast City Art Gallery.
Open to all media except photography.
Works go through a pre-selection process and finalists will be notified by October 23rd.
This prize was formerly known as the Conrad Jupiters Art Prize.

A$30000 UWS Acquisitive Sculpture Award and Exhibition

There are two awards , the UWS acquisitive prize of $25,000 and the Lancom People's Choice prize of $5,000. Sculpture should be suitable for permanent outdoor exhibition.

A$25000 Deadly Art Award

Held as part of the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards, this award aims to foster economic and commercial opportunities for Indigenous artists and encourage the production of diverse, high quality art.

Works go through a pre-selection process and successful artists will be notified by October 14.

The Deadly Art Award consists of $20,000 and professional development support worth $5000.

A$25000 Premier of Queenslands New Media Scholarship

Held in conjunction with the Premier of Queenslands National New Media Art Award, the New Media Scholarship is valued at $25,000 and is designed to assist an emerging new media artist develop their work through further study, travel or professional development. A$23000 Cricket Art Prize

Artists are invited to submit paintings depicting any aspect of the game of cricket.This includes figurative works, still life, landscape and figures in landscape, backyard, beach or social cricket.Works will go through a pre-selection process and finalists will be eligible for three prize categories:

The major acquisitive ANL Art Prize is $15,000.

May enter contemporary or traditional paintings with a marine theme. The theme for 2010 isThe Relationship Between Humanity and the Sea, 2010 International Year of the Seafarer. Works go through a preselection process.

A$20000 WA Department of Culture and the Arts - Young People and the Arts Distribution

This funding is designed to facilitate the distribution of an existing Western Australian arts activity, event or product to new audiences intrastate, interstate or internationally.

A maximum of $20,000 is granted to any single venture that demonstrates the potential to produce tangible rewards within clearly defined markets. There are two funding rounds closing 26 Feb and 24 September.

A$20000 Australia Council - Project and Professional Development - Community Partnerships

Up to $20,000 is available for one-off community arts and cultural development projects that involve a range of collaborating partners and may or may not have a public outcome.Individual artists and arts workers seeking support for professional development opportunities in community arts and cultural development may apply for this funding.Applications are taken for this funding between February 1st to September 7th. Apply anytime between these dates.

A$20000 Paddington Art Prize

One of Australia's richest landscape painting prizes. Aims to discover new talent that reflect the topography and spirit of the Australian landscape. Finalists will be selected for exhibition and will be in the running for the major prize.The major acquisitive prize is $20,000 awarded to a single winning entry.The UNSW College of Fine Arts will also offer a selected artist the opportunity to create a limited edition print.
