A$10000000 Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support (IVAIS)

Previously called the National Arts and Crafts Industry Support(NACIS)

This funding program provides direct funding support to Indigenous art centres and industry support and advocacy organisations. The objective of this funding is to build a more sustainable Indigenous visual arts industry. Approximately $10.5 million dollars is allocated each year.

A$642964 WA Department of Culture and the Arts - Distribution and Marketing

This funding is designed to facilitate the distribution of an existing WA arts event, activity, production or product to a new audience through marketing and export initiatives and showcasing work through festivals, trade fairs, exhibitions and similar events.
Funding is available to any single venture which can demonstrate the potential to produce artistic rewards within clearly defined markets.
Grant amounts vary from $8,000 - $60,000 with the average being around $20,000.
Each funding round has a total pool of around $600,000.

A$170000 Regional Arts NSW - Country Arts Support Program

A number of small grants between $300 and $3000 are available including up to $1500 for workshops and forums, $1500 for performances and exhibitions, $2000 for artists in residence programs, public art projects and cultural directories.

Funding is not open to individuals. This funding is open to arts groups.

A$120000 Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship

Scholarships offered annually valued at $20,000 each in the fields of the Arts including painting. Sculpture and architecture scholarships are offered every second year. A$65000 Western Australian Indigenous Art Awards

This award is designed to celebrate the diversity and richness of indigenous art from around Australia. In order to enter, artists must be nominated by an individual or organisation. Finalists will be selected and invited to enter the awards.
The Western Australian Indigenous Art Award is $50,000. Also includes the Western Australian Artist Award of $10,000. There is also a Peoples Choice Award of $5000. Please contact organising body for 2012 dates.

A$50000 College of Fine Arts - UNSW Honours Year Scholarships

Ten scholarships, valued at $5000 each are available for honours year students. Students need to achieve an average mark of 79 or higher in their respective degree programs to be eligible to apply for these scholarships.COFA applicants need to provide a statement on their research potential and the benefit to their discipline.Contact UNSW directly for further details.

A$30000 WA Department of Culture and the Arts - Young People and the Arts International Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to create an opportunity for an outstanding young WA artist with limited financial resources to pursue education at an overseas institution. One scholarship is awarded each year. The scholarship is valued at $30,000.

A$30000 Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award

One of Australia's richest open photography prizes. Entries go through a selection process and finalists are eligible for prizes and exhibition. Finalists will be notified by February 24th 2012. The overall winner will receive $20,000 and their work will be acquired by the Gold Coast City Art Gallery. There is a further $10,000 for acquisitions.

A$25000 Churchill Fellowship

The aim of the Winston Churchill fellowship is to provide the opportunity for Australians to travel overseas in order to conduct research in their area of expertise and gain experience that is not readily available in Australia.
The fellowship is valued at around $25,000.
Duration of a Fellowship must be between 4 and 6 weeks.
Successful applicants can travel from September 1st in the year of award. Includes travel costs, and a living allowance.

A$25000 Dulux Colour Awards

This is a major architecture and interior design prize for best use of colour. The major Grand Prix prize is a business class return flight airfare and 5 nights accommodation to the acclaimed International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York.

Category awards include best residential exterior $1500, best residential interior $1500, best commercial interior $1500, best commercial exterior $1500, best sustainable interior $1500 and best student $1000.

A$25000 Sydney Royal Easter Show - Art Exhibition

Entry fees vary from $10 - $35 per entry depending on what is being entered. Various prizes and categories are available including landscape painting, popular choice, still life painting, water colour painting, figurative painting, best seascape, best Australian bird or plant painting, drawing on paper, printmaking on paper, miniature art, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles and crafts.There are open categories as well as under 17 years categories.

A$25000 Willoughby Sculpture Prize

The major prize is $15,000.
There is a $3000 Willoughby residents award
A $1000 encouragement award
A $1000 peoples choice award
All prizes are non acquisitive
Up to $5000 will also be awarded to an artist for costs associated with a site specific work.Artists entering in this category must a submit a budget and detailed description of the proposed work and its location. The theme for this prize is rethink, reduce, reuse, recycle.Works may be for sale.
Works go through a preselection process with successful artists being notified by March 25th 2011.

A$20000 Brisbane Lord Mayors Young and Emerging Artists Fellowships

A maximum grant of $20,000 is available to support a young and emerging artist. Fellowship activities may include travel and study, secondment to an organisation, tuition, professional mentoring and instruction or a combination of these activities.

Applicants will be notified by letter within 3 months of applying.

Applications for this program are projected to reopen on 6 February 2012.

A$18000 Mandjar Art Awards

Open to all Western Australian artists.

The acquisitive Alcoa Corporate Award is $10,000
Highly Commended award is $1000
Acquisitive Regional Award is $5000
Highly Commended Regional Award is $1000
People's Choice award is $1000

A$17000 Gippsland Co-operative Education Program

Gives students the opportunity for paid work experience and professional development in their field of study.
This program funds a fully paid workplace experience and practical training in the area of study up to a value of $17,000, as well as the opportunity to receive up to 12 points of academic credit.

A$15000 Kings School Art Show, The

The award is a $15,000 acquisitive art prize. It is awarded to the painting judged the best contemporary representational painting, painted by an artist resident in Australia and represented by a commercial gallery. There are also over 700 paintings for sale.
The show is held in the last week of August.

A$14000 Victorian College of the Arts - John Vickery Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarshop is to enable two students enrolled in the School of Art Fine Art painting or drawing streams to enjoy financial support while studying in the second or third years of their undergraduate course. Each scholarship is valued at around $7000 and two are awarded per year.

A$14000 Swan Hill Print and Drawing Acquisitive Awards

Two awards are given, one for printing and one for drawing. One print and one drawing will be acquired by Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. Winning artists will receive the value of their work and an additional amount up to a total of $5000.

A$13500 Coffs Harbour Lillipilli Arts and Craft Exhibition

The champion award is $1000
The Jan Haskin's People's Choice award is $500
Sections include best Oil/Acrylic $600 first, $100 second
Best contemporary $600 first, $100 second
Best watercolour $600 first, $100 second
Best pastel $600 first, $100 second
Best drawing $600 first, $100 second
Best mixed media $600 first, $100 second
Best miniature $400

Other categories include best calligraphy, best ceramics, best photography. These categories win $400 first prize and $100 second prize. Best sculpture wins $500 with $100 second prize. There are also textiles and woodwork categories and various youth awards.

A$13000 Strand Ephemera VI

Strand Ephemera is a dynamic 11 day festival of contemporary art. Presented along the length of the Strand, on Townsville's beachfront, the festival is complemented by a program of events and workshops for the general public, guided tours and performances. First initiated by Perc Tucker Regional Gallery in 2001, this is the sixth incarnation of Strand Ephemera.

Artists are invited to submit proposals for sculptures and installations in any medium.

A $10,000 prize will be awarded to the winning work at the official opening.
A $2000 people's choice prize will be awarded at the end of the exhibition.
A $1000 artists fee will be paid to all selected finalists for installation of their work.
